Sacred Heart Academy sees the value in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme and Advanced Placement (AP) courses and that is why we offer both! There are strengths to both options, and you should choose the one that fits your needs the best. As a sophomore, each student in any honors course(s) meets individually with the IB coordinator to establish a desired course plan.
SHA students have the option to choose from 36 college-level courses including IB, AP and dual-credit courses. Seventy percent of juniors and seniors are enrolled in college-credit courses. Members of the Class of 2018 were accepted to 150 colleges and universities across the country.
Students who successfully complete the prerequisite honors level courses can choose to take Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit by taking AP courses. The AP courses offered at SHA are the following:
- AP English
- AP Calculus
- AP Statistics
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Psychology
- AP U.S. Government
All AP classes are one-year courses. Students taking AP subjects must take the AP exam at the end of the school year.
