Welcome to SHA
Welcome to Sacred Heart Academy, an all-girls Catholic High School situated amidst the beautiful 48-acre Ursuline Campus. We are an International Baccalaureate, Cognia-accredited school dedicated to inspiring diverse learners to become globally minded, compassionate leaders.
As a part of Sacred Heart Schools, the Ursuline core values are at the root and heart of all we do.
Community | Reverence | Service | Leadership
We intentionally focus on building and celebrating community and providing a place where our students can develop holistically through leading academic, spiritual, artistic, athletic, and leadership development programs. We want every student to find her home at SHA and know that we are supporting her, cheering for her, praying for her, and celebrating her success.
Reverence calls us to provide an environment where mutual respect is paramount. Though many parts, we are one body as the community of Sacred Heart. Our students can and will succeed at high levels, no matter where they are when they come to us. We will empower them but also hold them accountable, give them grace when needed, and provide systems that allow them to grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
We teach them the meaning and blessing of service to others. We don’t dictate where they serve. We know finding their passion is part of the process. We incorporate service in their class experiences but expect them to make a difference in their community outside of school hours.
As Louisville's only formalized high school leadership program, the Jean Frazier Leadership Institute at Sacred Heart Schools intentionally empowers every Valkyrie to find her leadership potential through self-discovery and authentic experiences. We inspire our students daily to see themselves as leaders. That looks different for each student, and we take an individualized approach to help each pinpoint her leadership pathway.
As principal, I am honored to build upon our Catholic and Ursuline tradition, our caring Sacred Heart community, and our holistic approach to educating young women. We will continue to pursue excellence and advance our mission - serving our students and inspiring them to become globally-minded, compassionate leaders. The future is bright!
Best,
Dr. Tim Adams
