Ninety Sacred Heart Academy Juniors Network, Collaborate at Jean Frazier Leadership Institute's Lead With Heart Luncheon

Last week, 90 juniors got a firsthand preview of what leadership, networking, and female collaboration feels like in the real world at Sacred Heart Academy's 4th annual Lead With Heart Luncheon. Sponsored by the Jean Frazier Leadership Institute (JFLI) and the SHA alumnae association, this year's luncheon was divided into a student-alumnae networking component and a panel moderated by JFLI Director, Emily Brinkmoeller Karem '96, and two JFLI Leadership Cabinet members: Layla George ’92 and Akure Paradis.

Thanks to the 35+ professionals who spent the first half of the luncheon networking with our junior Frazier Fellows. Prepared with business cards and polished elevator pitches, the Class of 2027 met female leaders in career fields such as law, education, international relations, and medicine. Students discussed academics, internships, and future college and career goals, all while building relationships and unlocking opportunities with our incredible SHA alumnae partners.

JFLI Cabinet members Layla George '92, Project Executive for the Belvedere project and former President and CEO of the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, and Akure Paradis, Assistant General Counsel-Enterprise Risk Management at 3M, offered terrific career advice in a relaxed setting during the luncheon. These impressive female leaders talked about the importance of making smart connections, even as a 16-17-year-old student. Through relatable anecdotes and stories, these women helped make the connections between values and leadership clear for our junior Frazier Fellows.
