Each year, the National Merit Program honors students across the nation whose scores are the highest in Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), taken in the fall of their junior year at SHA. To be considered for a National Merit scholarship, students must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. Each of our semifinalists have reached this final level and are now eligible for prestigious National Merit Scholarship awards. These scholars join the 250 Valkyries who have been named National Merit Finalists since 1957.
