Sacred Heart and Trinity’s varsity lacrosse teams took the field in the 13th Annual Rock the Heart charity lacrosse game. Playing with the girls’ equipment and rules, it’s always a fun night with bragging rights trading back and forth. This year, the Valkyries came out on top with a final score of 13 to 9.
More importantly, these two groups of students came together to raise money for Down Syndrome of Louisville. They more than doubled last year’s efforts, donating $11,177 to this worthy organization! Representatives from Down Syndrome of Louisville were on hand to enjoy the game and perform an amazing halftime dance for the huge crowd.
The students worked hard to get the word out about the fundraiser, visiting the Tony and Dwight radio show, securing sponsors, and creating pregame hype.
This is what high school athletics is all about…camaraderie, sportsmanship, and fun!
