Each year, the National Merit Program honors students across the nation whose scores are the highest in Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), taken in the fall of their junior year at SHA. To be considered for a National Merit scholarship, students must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition, and honorees will be announced in early 2023. These scholars hope to join the 244 Valkyries who have been named National Merit Finalists since 1957.
