Twenty-two Valkyries have been chosen to attend the 2022 Governor's Scholars Program (GSP), Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) and Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE).
Sacred Heart's twelve Governor's Scholars are juniors Verity Brown, Shelby Davis, Carter Franklin, Grace Guernsey, Louise Imber, Ophelia Lorenz, Erin McLarney, Isabela Moreno, Elaina Ralston, Vittoria Riedling, Abigail Rutledge and Isabella Yochum. GSP is a competitive summer program for outstanding high school juniors held at three college campuses in Kentucky: Bellarmine University, Centre College, Morehead State University.
The seven juniors selected to Governor's School for the Arts: Lilia Biagi - Visual Art, Brooklyn Bond - Architecture & Design, Allie Cruse - Vocal Music, Katie Nunnelley - Architecture & Design, Kathryn Ruley - Dance, Lizzie Sorrell - Film & Photography, Evelyn Wickson - Film & Photography. These bright young artists will participate in three weeks of intensive art instruction at the University of Kentucky this summer.
Leeala Beeler '24, Eden Bess Farber '25 and Juliana Howell '24 have been chosen to participate in the Governor's School for Entrepreneurs. GSE identifies and enables Kentucky high school students to think creatively and solve problems in collaboration with other teens at Northern Kentucky University over the summer.
