SHA Wins 10th Consecutive State Swim & Dive Championship; 33rd Overall For Program

Coach Jim Luebbe's Valkyrie team is the KHSAA Swimming and Diving Girls’ State Champion for the tenth consecutive year, winning 6 of 12 events and scoring 347 points at University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center on Saturday, February 19, 2022. This title marks the 10th championship in a row and 33rd championship in program history for Sacred Heart. The Sacred Heart athletic program has now earned 101 state titles, going back to a Swim and Dive team win in 1963.

Individual state champions include:

Haley McDonald: 200 IM*, 500 Free*

Madeline Meredith: 100 Fly*, 100 Back*

200 Free Relay*: Brinly Hardy, Ella Donlin, Mackenzie Lanning, Haley McDonald

400 Free Relay: Haley McDonald, Carlie Tyler, Mackenzie Lanning, Madeline Meredith

On February 12, Kaitlin Calvery placed second in the state diving championships.

The AquaValks dressed as Superwomen for the state meet, and they showed off their superpowers in the pool! This is SHA’s third state athletic championship this school year. The Field Hockey and Dance programs also won state championships.
