SHA wins 9th Consecutive State Swim and Dive Championship

Coach Jim Luebbe's Valkyrie swim team is the KHSAA Swimming and Diving Girls’ State Champion for the ninth consecutive year, winning 6 of 12 events and scoring 407.5 points.

Senior Annabel Crush beat former SHA swimmer Asia Seidt's 100-yard backstroke time to set a state record at 52.66 seconds!

SHA won the 200-yard medley relay (Mackenzie Lanning, Carlie Tyler, Chloe McDonald, Brinly Hardy), the 200 freestyle (Mackenzie Lanning), 200 IM (Crush), 100 butterly (Madeline Meredith), 200 freestyle relay (Crush, Hardy, Caroline Pape, Meredith), and 400 freestyle relay (Crush, Meredith Bauer, Pape, Meredith).

With numerous additional medal finishes, the AquaValks brought home the State Championship for the 32nd time! This is SHA’s FOURTH state athletic championship this school year. The Soccer, Field Hockey and Basketball programs also finished their seasons in first place.

The four seniors swam their hearts out and then got ready for Senior Prom in the locker room. Talk about memories!
