Sacred Heart Academy Graduates End School Year With Honors

Bailey Hostutler was named Miss Sacred Heart. This prestigious award recognizes a senior who represents Sacred Heart Academy’s core values of community, reverence, service and leadership. Miss Sacred Heart, who is nominated by faculty/staff and students, demonstrates in words and actions a genuine love for her school, her fellow students, the faculty and the staff. Bailey continued her leadership even after in-person academics were suspended in March, keeping the spirits of all students lifted during the difficult time.

Helene Senn received the St. Angela Award for her daily and year-long commitment to the Ursuline core values of community, leadership, reverence and service. The award is given by the Sacred Heart Schools Office of Mission Effectiveness and is named after St. Angela Merici, who founded the Ursuline Sisters.

For the first time this year, and to honor Dr. Cynthia Crabtree, president of Sacred Heart Schools for her years of service and leadership, the Dr. Cynthia Crabtree Integrity in Leadership Award was created to honor one senior who is a visionary leader, role model to peers and has the heart of a servant leader. The 2020 Dr. Cynthia Crabtree Integrity in Leadership Award was presented to Ryane Jones.

Other special awards presented to the Class of 2020 included: The 110 Percent Effort Award- Gigi Hurst; Bunny Daugherty Unsung Hero Award- Eliza Kelly; Parents’ Association Award- Jamie Ashlock; Athlete of the Year Award- Kristen Clemons, Claire Donan, Iaunia Pointer and Erin Toller; and SHA Alumnae Association Outstanding Senior Award- Ashton Tidwell.

As of today, members of the SHA Class of 2020 have received scholarships, in excess of $27 million, and have been accepted to hundreds of colleges and universities across the United States.
