Message to SHA Families 3.13.20

March 13, 2020

Dear Parents,

Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17 will be treated as snow days. Sacred Heart Academy will move to digital learning days starting Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 27. Students are expected to follow the digital learning days as outlined below. Support staff will be available for students as needed.

The SHA administrative office will be open every day from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. School personnel will be available via phone and email. No visitors, please.

The Sacred Heart Schools business office will be open every day from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. School personnel will be available via phone and email. No visitors, please.

Spring Break will operate as previously scheduled starting Monday, March 30 through April 6. Sacred Heart will resume school on April 7. It is a blue day. The Grandparent Breakfast has been canceled for that day, so TEAM will be at regular time and there is no late opening

Students were provided a tutorial on the platform that we will be using for digital learning. The platform is called TEAMS, and this, along with our Learning Management System, Schoology, will allow our teachers to continue daily classes. The schedule, of course will be modified. Should your daughter experience any technical challenges, she can contact the main office at 897.6097 or email [email protected]. A detailed outline of guidelines and expectations, as well as the class schedule, for our digital learning days was sent out on Friday. Please check your weekly bulletin.

Questions or concerns should be emailed to [email protected] or phoned to 897.6097. We will continue to communicate plans with you as they unfold.

We thank you and your daughters for patience, flexibility and positive response during this unprecedented time. Safety is always our first concern, and we believe that our cooperation with the state and local mandates will ensure the health of our students. We encourage you, as well, to keep your daughters away from large-group gatherings such as movie theaters, malls and other activities. Practicing social distancing, covering coughs and sneezes and washing hands often are highly recommended. The CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html is your best source of information concerning the COVID-19 virus and preventative measures. Let us pray for the health and safety of all in the days and weeks ahead.

God Bless,

Mary Lee McCoy, Principal
